Today I decided to take a pretty literal take on My Grandma's coffee cakes, creating the coffee-ist coffee cake you ever did see. How? Well how about a Cappuccino Coffee Cake with coffee glaze? Yes, you heard that right! 

This coffee glaze was just the easiest recipe I can remember, and I wanted to share it with you!

At least that's what we decided, as everywhere we turned we found a new antique shop. I decided to turn our antiquing trip into an opportunity to do a craft I have always wanted to, and so today I am going to show you how to make a cake stand out of some old dishes.

Lemon Poppy On The Road in Music City

Today I am writing from Nashville!

For Spring Break this year some friends and I decided to take the few days we had off from school and work to drive a few hours down to Nashville and spend a few days in Music City! We have spent our first few days at the Opry, shopping, and at the Country Music Hall of Fame. And now that we've got the country music history out of the way, we are on to explore the sites and play some charades!

Why am I telling you this? Because we brought along some cake, of course! Lemon Poppy Coffee Cake! And we spent some time enjoying it along with some spring raspberries and quirky Nashville-esque decor and souvenirs.

My Grandma's is introducing a new flavor to our online customers, and we should all be excited. I know I am! I have tried My Grandma's pineapple coconut coffee cake and it is incredible! And you will love it too!

This pineapple coconut coffee cake is so moist that the entire cake has the consistency of the very center of the softest banana bread you have ever eaten. Yes, it's that good. And yes, it's fully baked. My Grandma's cakes are so moist and delicious that our customers sometimes claim the cake as their own recipe to their guests. It's such high praise, and we are so proud to be of service.

My Birthday was last week, and I decided to take the chance to celebrate with a craft that could last for many birthdays to come. From my sister's to my aunt's, to my next birthday. Do you ever feel like some projects are just too advanced for you? I always thought that with caramel. Whenever I look up recipes for making candy they just seem so detailed and complicated that only an expert can do them. Well I have been proven wrong. You may have seen our Valentine's Day Choco-love post, and if you did, then you would know that I made caramel last weekend, and it was so much easier than I ever imagined!

This recipe took me less than an hour, is adorable and delicious, and it goes so well with coffee cake!

So it's now late January, are you still following through on your New Year's resolutions? If you are, good for you. I am thoroughly impressed with your tenacity! I can not say the same for myself. And I am not alone. 98% of people do not follow through with their resolutions, at least according to this article.

Why do so many of us put ourselves through the ordeal of setting yearly commitments in an effort to completely change our behaviors? Of course I always believe in working to better oneself, but there is a lot of research that proves that expecting big change to happen at once can often be a recipe for failure.

Autumn Adventures- Halloween Scare Package

Today I had a little free time and a small task to do.

The other day I found a product that I knew would be the perfect gift for my little sister. Just another one of my Fall Favorites!

A little about my sister.. my freshman year, I bought her ninja cookie cutters for her birthday, and she sent me a care package of home-made ninja-bread cookies. Well now it's her freshmen year, and I have found the perfect follow up gift... zombie cookie cutters! I just had to send them, and instead of just a box in a box, a full care package was in order!

Back to the point, today I had the task of sending my sister the Halloween fun I bought her, but I had a bit of free time, so I decided to decorate the box and give her a whole Halloween treat!

Delicious Delectables- Lemon Curd Coffee Cake

I discovered a new dessert topping! I don't know if you are aware of the power of lemon curd, but I was blissfully naive about this delicious topping until very recently.

Last week I found myself sitting around trying to decide what I should blog about next when I thought it might be fun to get some new opinions in the conversation, and boy was that a good idea! Quite a few ideas were raised (that you will be seeing soon on this blog), but one idea made my friend Sankalp SO excited that I had no choice but to help him make it come to life. What was this idea?

Lemon curd and coffee cake! 

"Lemon curd" you say? "That won't go well with coffee cake!" Well when I started this I have to say that I had my doubts, too. But I trusted in Sankalp's judgement, and boy did it pay off!
