Lemon Poppy On The Road in Music City

by Maggie Kelleher

Today I am writing from Nashville!

For Spring Break this year some friends and I decided to take the few days we had off from school and work to drive a few hours down to Nashville and spend a few days in Music City! We have spent our first few days at the Opry, shopping, and at the Country Music Hall of Fame. And now that we've got the country music history out of the way, we are on to explore the sites and play some charades!

Why am I telling you this? Because we brought along some cake, of course! Lemon Poppy Coffee Cake! And we spent some time enjoying it along with some spring raspberries and quirky Nashville-esque decor and souvenirs.

Charming Crafts- Simple Ribbon Cake Topper

by Maggie Kelleher

This may be just a bit late, but we at My Grandma’s have had so many things to blog about lately that we have been holding off on this. But the wait is over; today I am going to show you how I made the adorable cake topper featured in our recent Instagram birthday video. Don’t have an Instagram or just don’t follow us? No problem, I’ve also added the video below! Though I do have to say we are loving our recent introduction to Instagram, and definitely suggest that you check it out!

One of the little things I did to give our wonderful Latonya’s birthday and this video a little extra pizzazz was to make that little cake topper you see in the video.

Have you heard of The Magical Moon Foundation?

The Magical Moon Foundation is a fantastic organization that works to help nurture and empower children with cancer. Their mission statement affirms that The Magical Moon Foundation:
"focuses on empowering children to use their inner strengths to manifest miracles in their lives. The magic behind the Magical Moon begins by encouraging children to find the warrior within. Rather than kids fighting cancer, they become brave young Knights turning their struggles into motivation."

Let Them Eat Coffee Cake- My Grandma's Is Perfect For Tea Time & Beyond

by Maggie Kelleher

I had a bit of an adventure this weekend. My little sister's friends came over for a coffee cake tea party, and knowing that I run this blog, they decided to make it a formal affair. No one can deny that high school seniors know how to create dramatic effect and take the time to enjoy their summer!

So bring on the prom dresses, because these girls dressed up in high-style for My Grandma's of New England.
