Delightful Delectables- Smooth-Sailing Peanut Butter Sauce, The Perfect Peanut Butter Topping

by Maggie Kelleher

By now you might know that I had a little coffee cake photo shoot with some friends in prom dresses last week, and they were the judges in a battle between peanut butter and jelly. Okay, it was between peanut butter sauce and berry sauce, but it's in that realm.

Anyways, I already posted the recipe for the delicious Easy-Does-It Berry Sauce and today I am going to share with you how to make the peanut butter sauce, so you can host round two of this battle yourself.

Let us know how it turns out and enter our giveaway to win a FREE coffee cake for the Fourth of July. All you have to do is share or re-tweet any of our Facebook or Twitter posts and fill out the form below!

Smooth-Sailing Peanut Butter Sauce.

It may not be chunky peanut butter, but it's really good!

What will you need?
     2 Tbsp peanut butter
     1/2 cup peanut butter chips
     1/2 cup heavy cream

What do you need to do?
Combine all ingredients in a heavy saucepan
Stir while cooking on medium heat for about 5 minutes until smooth
     Cool
     Eat

I overcooked mine a bit, so I had to go back and add more cream and mix it a lot to get back that smooth consistency, so don't do what I did and take it off of the heat once it's smooth.

To pour it easily and decorate the cakes, I put the sauce in a plastic bag and cut off the corner, to make an icing bag (once it was cool, of course). I don't trust myself with a spoonful of thick peanut butter sauce, but I applaud you if you can wield it well.

Jenna fought valiantly to make the Smooth-Sailing Peanut Butter Sauce the winner.

Overall, we had some berry-lovers in our bunch so the Easy-Does-It Berry Sauce won this battle, but we had one peanut butter-lover who would definitely disagree!

So go out there and enjoy! Do you like peanut butter or berries better? Let us know in the comments!
