Lemon Poppy On The Road in Music City

by Maggie Kelleher

Today I am writing from Nashville!

For Spring Break this year some friends and I decided to take the few days we had off from school and work to drive a few hours down to Nashville and spend a few days in Music City! We have spent our first few days at the Opry, shopping, and at the Country Music Hall of Fame. And now that we've got the country music history out of the way, we are on to explore the sites and play some charades!

Why am I telling you this? Because we brought along some cake, of course! Lemon Poppy Coffee Cake! And we spent some time enjoying it along with some spring raspberries and quirky Nashville-esque decor and souvenirs.

Seeing as we rented a Nashville cottage on Airbnb for this week, we decided to have some fun with our cute country cottage surroundings. And thus the guitar and Lemon Poppy became friends!

And so did all of my gorgeously printed Opry paraphernalia, from the famous Hatch Show Printers, in some amazingly fun colors!

Then my friends and I posed with it, just to distract ourselves from wanting to eat the cake right before dinner.

It wasn't the easiest task, as we really wanted to eat this cake...

really wanted a delicious lemony fork-full.

And then we finally got to slice it, and it was glorious!

Enjoy the cake, Tripti!
